hells yeah Russ!  Favorite type of bike. Naked streetbike, or standard. This is the FZ1 I traded for my 700 last week. Shares previous R1 technology, but detuned, and lower geared. In a comfrotable upright position. Which also makes it a wheelie machine. Cheaper insurance classified as standard. 160 mph easy. I actually think Russ's bike is cooler looking.   Neighbor has a blue ZX that is badass looking. I dig the sleeper look. Don't care for all the plastic.

State Farm insurance is dirt cheap on bike coverage. It should be around 60-130 for a one liter bike a month (depending on your driving record) for full coverage.

If you have been, or are in the military USAA insurance cannot be beat

State Farm?

Really?

State Farm is typically the highest insurance out there.

They don't offer motorcycle insurance to new member unless you already have some type of motorcycle insurance through them.

well.. I guess  i better throw in my 2 cents..

I have had this argument a thousnd times.. and I really don't wanna do it again

all of the bikes are great.. really..

BUT..

I am 6 foot and almost 200 lbs..
I have owned 2 R6's and never once did I feel it was underpowered or small
nobody on here can ride one to its potential..
you will NEVER outgrow it..
the bike will always be "Better than you"

as for the GSXR750
GREAT bike..
but it is the exact same size as the gsxr600
the parts are interchangeable..
same frame..
just slightly more power

the people that say you will out grow a 600 are full of it..
I would love to challenge them to a nice little race around the twisties
I pass 1000's all the time (till we hit a straight away)

modern 600's will kill you pretty fast..
make no mistake of that..
those bikes are pure evil!

don't be afraid to buy a 6
they are GREAT bikes..

now.. if you are set on a 1000
my buddy has a NICE GSXR for sale..

Thanks!  Ditto on the plastic, that was one of the first things that really drew me to the Z.  It is basically a ZX9 motor with a few more cc's and tuned for low-mid performance.  Plus it's fuel injected, so it's a big-3 bike now: pipe, K&N, and PCIII.  :grin_nod:  I have a black seat and a rear fender eliminator kit on the way as well.  That's probably the end of the mods for a while on the bike.

FWIW, I have State Farm and have for almost 16 years, their motorcycle rates are great and at least around my area, they are very competitive on auto/homeowners rates too.

Yup, FZ1 is a great bike.  Plenty fast but more "practical" if you can call a bike that.

700rSE

i think you can. saves you money for gas(if u dont do 130+) and also its like a toy so you have fun while you drive to work and what not 8)

The SV 1000 is also a very nice bike if your looking at the FZ1

FZ1 is basically the previous generation R1 slightly detuned for less agressive riding. Lower geared, great wheelie wachine. So not the newest technology, but still good.
