I think one problem would be with those the backers on the studs are kind of smaller arent thye?

I know on the normal sled studs, the backers are about 1"x1"

Thats a good thought.

I thought maybe they pulled out because it was a 2 ply tire.

I think a 6 ply tire With some better backers would be great.

everything has its limits, and if you use it with some common sense it would work well.

I just found a stud that could work out great

To me..... I'd get a sharp tipped stud.. It's only a matter of time it's gonna end up flat anyways.

I put studs in my stockers and they have worked great. I found a deal on 1000 Gold Screws and put them basicly in every corner of the stock tires tread pattern and they hook up real nice.

I can put up pics if you want.

Here you go. It really does hook up great and stay put in the tire.

desdak4- How many hours/miles have you put on those studded tires and do you run them as hard as normal?

I have about 10 Hours on these as we have a lot of snow this year and getting around has gotten real hard. You will notice I took them off the Raptor. They are kinda hard on the garage floor in Base Housing.

They hook well enough on ice to get the front end up and control ripping through the turns on the river.

Thanks for posting the pics Jay
The tires look like they are holding up very well.

Wanted to tell you about Kenda's new Snow Mad tire but its not pictured on their site yet.  Saw the ad in "ATV Magazine" on page 11.

A similiar tire is the AMS Zipper tire & they are awesome in the snow and sand, I'm extremely happy with mine
