There were actually three viruses, and prior to upgrading my Norton. It would change Brandy's background to a "Warning, your computer is infected" background. A little red X would pop up in the task bar, and it would throw a small popup saying "your computer is infected". After Norton scanned it, it removed the viruses. When I selected "reboot now", Microsoft was installing updates.....The computer powered down and said "Windows is installing updates.....Do not turn your computer off......Windows will shut down automatically.

The computer will boot back up, and when I log on in either "Guest" or "Brandy" it will open for a split second and power back down to the log in page. It does the same in safe mode. I even tried selecting "reboot to last know working configuration" and it would do the same. I'm still pissed.....I can't find the start up disc for her laptop, so I'll have to order them.

If you need XP Pro let me know. I have the corporate version (doesn't need a cd key) and all updates work for it.

Thanks.

I may be able to get it to boot using a startup disc, and then re-install Microsoft updates.

Oh, and for a little humor this morning....

if you find the name of the virus let me know... It may have infected the "last known good configuration" and just re-install itself.

Haha, not really.  :D
Its good, I guess. I miss quads, but everything is pretty much the same.
And with the way the economy is going, I don't know if I should just buy a quad, and then sell it or just save my money for a car. Shits complicated..
How bout you? Didn't you get married, while I was gone? If so congrats!
