Does anyone use or have used the chatterbox's for communication between riders?  My wife and I are interested in them so it is not as hard to talk to each other when we go for rides.

When I rode street bikes I did. It came in handy. I would be afraid of wind noise in a motorcross type helmet though.

For them to work they need to be somewhat close to your mouth - the big breather hole in the front of most offroad helmets makes that difficult. Not to say it won't work, you'll likely just have to engineer a fuzzy wind diffuser to cover the mic.

I was looking into the chatterbox for the street bike use and off-road use but decided to go with a better cheaper route.

Bought a set of Midland 2-ways with 25mile range (estimated) that included a 2 helmet kits, and 2 throat mics.  We tried the standard mic that velcros in front of the mouth in the helmet and they were better than the chatterbox we tried out but still not as good.  The throat mics were the way to go.  Crisp, clear communication, all for less than the price of a single chatterbox.

I was trying to get a link of the radios but their website is not working. www.midlandradios.com

Chatterbox is the best just expensive , mine came with two cool stick on speakers for my helmet, the range was the best and no wires to go to a radio on your side because its a helmet mount.I have had over the last ten years almost every radio I could get even comercial Motorola units but the Chatterbox is the last I need.

I did get to the site but could not go into their products.  I just mistyped it here.
