I would suspect the 3.92 to be on the lower part of that average  ???

Correct.

Dodge does make a 3.55 and a 3.21 gear. The 3.21 won't pull as much, but would be a great highway gear.

brian how does a ram hemi beat  a mustang? whats the 0-60 on the ram. it cant be 5.0 wich is what the gt is and also what the srt 10 quad is

The Ram's 0-60 second time is six seconds.

It has nothing to do with speed.....Horsepower on the truck is 390 hp, and the Mustang GT is 315 hp. My comment was more of a reference to the performace aspect, or a jab at the Mustang's lack of.
