Extra wear and tear on the tie rods and spindles with too much offset. Makes the steering more responsive, yet twitchy. A bit heavy as well. I learned this in the dunes, but really didn't ride bad in the sand. Steering was all "loose" when I got back. Had to tighten castle nut on the stem. Upper ball joint worn out.

Reminds of working at a car dealership when I was younger. A kid bought an Escort station wagon, this place offered 3 month warranty. He put those little bitty mega offset Mercedes knockoff chrome rims on it. Seriously, they stuck out the wheelwells by at least 6 inches. Came back after a month saying the steering was "wobbly".  Both tie rods were shot. we made him pay for the repair.

kinda like my dad and hes Geo Metro he has

the offset on it makes the wheels stick out about 4" out of the wheel wells. The thing is snappy as heck the steering. Like a little go cart!
