Just got my 360 monday.  TigerDirect has the old style premium system (the one with the 20g HD) refurbished for $149.99, so I picked one up.  Still has a 1 year warranty so I figure I'm good.  So far, only have Halo 3.  Gamertag is eZtarget71, same as I use on Windows Live for PC, and just plain eZtarget on Steam.  I play Lost Planet: Extreme Condition on PC frequently.

I don't have a code for you, but I do have input if you want it.  Live adds new life to old games, playing online against other living, breathing nerds people is way more fun than playing the same old predictable game again.  You can play the same maps over and over, but they are always different with real people playing.  I beat COD4 in a couple days, but it is still lots of fun to play it online.
FWIW, you can get a 1 month subscription for like $7.99, that's pretty cheap to give it a try.
