Hey Brian. There is an airplane for sale in our local free calssifieds. I know the guy too, flies it from his front lawn strip. IT is a 56' 152. Says it has a "jump door" for skydiving. And it is airworthy...just needs the annual. $7000 friggin bucks...it's tempting me. Just old...but I do enjoy wrenching on machinery.  I might go check it out just for $hits and giggles :grin_nod:

1956?

That's scarry. Planes that old need a major inspection.

He uses it as a jump plane? He must take one person up at a time, because a 152 only has room for one passenger.

I have a phobia about flying airplanes older than me. I don't know what it is, but it just freaks me out.

I know, I don't even like riding in old cars, but still tempting. My best friend is an A&P, airframe and powerplant mechanic. That helps.  I would keep it at my parent's land. They have a 1/4 mile strip of property that is perfectly flat.  IT is worth looking into this little hypothetical pipe dream.

Not sure what they are throwing out the "jump door". I have an idea what I can use it for. special midnight deliveries.

With full tanks, my fat ass, and my instructors ass in a 152, we were 350 lbs over on weight and balance. It would still rotate at 1500 feet.
