he said it lowered the ground clearance about 3 inches

It gives it the stance of a yfz 450. however if you trail ride on rough trails it will beat the hell out of ya. and loose alot of ground clearance if these things dont apply then the lowering kit is what you want. it deffinatly helped with wheelie problems and made it feel more stable  My front kit is a better kit than the crj kit because of the way it mounts. it mounts to the lower a-arm as well as the shock mount making this much more rigid than the other kits.

dude the thing has a mind of its own  :help: i think the throttle and wheelie problem are directly related?  :grin_nod:

ok done thread jacking

wheelie = you lose the race :'( theres a time to wheelie and a time that you dont want to. when your racing you dont want to,it causes extra wind drag against the bottom of the quad slowing you down. plus it causes you to have to feather the throttle also slowing you down. the lowering kit helps with both,it does not eliminate  though. exentix realised the power of this thing when he stabbed the gas in 3rd while cruising along and all of the sudden seen nothing but the sky 8) he was like holly

Jake I know the perfect solution for tires (and they are CHEAP)!

Knobbies in 25x12x9 and run the 13 or 14 front. Dont worry about strapping the front...lets just build some cheap struts for the front, and set the rear full soft. They also make a 22x11x8 which would be a good option too, then could run 14/15 front. The 25x12x9's will expand a lot, and with the width and tire hanging over the rim should hook up GREAT. plus they are 44 bucks a tire :)

If you want I will pilot, assuming I dont enter mine.

Ya all the traction in the world dosnt mean $hit if you cant keep the front end on the ground!

Hmmm just had a thought... I wonder if 25x12x9's would even fit on a raptor (thinking, rubbing heel guar/nerf bar's). Might be close... Obviously the 22x11-8's would for sure work, but of course would require some new wheels.

I know, I know. But that is what sold me on the Raptor when I test rode it. I blipped the throttle, looked at the clouds, then rode it back and wrote a check!
