WOW! What would happen if they don't do it? over 4 million people without a job..at least for awhile.  

Hmmm...pay people way too much, make crappy cars = no profits? "whoda thunk it?"

I have always thought we didn't need that many automakers anyhow. Not the big three, just all the mini marques. Like lincoln mercury/ford. I really want to pay a premium for my Explorer because it has a Mercury badge on it? WTF!
Same with oldsmobile, pontiac, cadillac. Same cars, wasted money making them "different" Same with infiniti/nissan. I had that conversation here before. The extra euphoria you get when buying your "better than nissan car" quickly hits the gutter when you try to sell or trade it in and you get the Nissan price.
