I bought a Precision & Flexx Bars

the "easy" way out.

Still a smart move.  I think if you plan on racing a bunch next year you should add some flexx bars.  Just think if the race was a rocky as the trails you were on last weekend.

I was honestly fine. It was funy, I was proving to my bro how good the shock/precision combo was. while they were on the road, I took the trail right next to it, rocky as heck, and a log in the middle as well. (log was about 4-6" diameter) took it all 4th gear. freakin awesome. Although.. I think flexx bars will be on the x-mas list. 8)

I would have to say stretching is your best bet, arms, legs, back and shoulders. Just stretch anything you can. And stay hydrated, those are the most important things IMO. I have fibromayalgia so after I go riding I am sooo sore, but I have noticed when I stretch a day or two before and on the day Im riding then my recovery is quicker like the next day. Same with hydrating myself a couple days before and staying hydrated the day of.  If I dont do these things I am sore for almost a week.  :'(

Hope this helps.

Good point RappyPrincess- Hydration & limit or no caffeine on race/ride day

I have found, hydration is one of the best things you can do. Drink water. Drink tons of it..

6 m onths ago. I quit energy drinks. I started back up for some reason. And I decided to stop again. I limit myself to 2 cans of pop a day one @ lunch and one in the evening. I figure roughly I'm drinking about 70-100oz of water a day now and feel great along with a good nights sleep. :)

It is all coke down here!

Gatorade is good and so is the vitamin water, stay away from the ones loaded with sugars.  (I just started on the Bud Light Lime - vitamin water)
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

I may have to check out that BL Lime vitamin program.

You must be from the south, when I lived in Arkansas thats what they called it. I would bring them a coke and they really wanted something else???
