For those of you that ride, what kind out exercises do you to improve your stamina, endurance, and strength for riding?

I am a little out of shape and want to make sure that I can ride without passing out!!

Freek's right. If you want the Stamina.. Cardio is your main guy.. But.. Don't forget weights. they help as well.
main focus areas should be your legs (obviously) and your forearms. I noticed in my XC race that was the first thing to get sore. From pulling the clutch and giving it gas. Granted it sounds lame, but when you're riding 2 hours no break. it's f*ckin tiring.

also work your back out.  If you are woods riding, you never know what kind of obstacles you will have to avoid, and you could pull/through your back bro

I don't do anything out of my normal routine.

However, these two exercises seem to help a lot...
1. Grips (you know, use those hand gripper, spring-loaded things to increase your grip)
2. Squats

Cardio.  Back, shoulder, and forearm strength.  I find that neck exercises help too.

Grips are good for strength and help a little with arm pump.  To really combat it I carry a racket ball or tennis ball around with me as often as I can (during training) and continuously squeeze and relax my fingers around the ball.  This does wonders for preventing arm pump IMO.

Peelz

right before a ride: stretch arms, shoulders, wrists and forearms. And your back!. Just make sure you are loose before you ride hard. This old man learned the hard way once.
Krandall: "peelz. I'll be real with you. As much as I hate on you for soccer, I really don't mind it"
