Well today I got my K&N Intake/Filter bolted on.  I fired her up and so far she idles great, though I havent taken it for a ride yet cause I am still waiting for my High Temp silicone to cure for my exhuast leak.  I had to redo it once cause I didnt quite get enough silicone on it the first time to completely stop the leak.  So hopefully tomorrow the leak will be fixed.  In a day or two my new Jets should be here!

Krandall

Yeah, just make sure you let that stuff cure the "propper" time it says.. we had a MESS.. I just got so antsy :swinger:

Yeah I let the first batch sit for the 24 hours it said, but I still had two small leaks.  One coming from where the slip-on has a notch cut in it and another where the pipe isnt perfectly round.  So I wanted to get a little more silicone in there this time and see if I cant get her sealed right up.  If not then I will see if I can pound that out-of-round spot in just a hair.

I was kinda surprised at how well it was idling though, especially from some the stuff I have heard others talk about.  No doubt it will be a different story when I try to run it before I get the jets in it.

Krandall

i would bet it will run fine w/ out the jets.. you'll be running her lean, and I'm sure you'd get mad popping on decelleration. but. should still run.

Yeah probably right.  though I am not going to be really riding it, just up and down the driveway once or twice until I get the jets.

Also today I ordered a 12 tooth front sprocket.

Krandall

You aren't going to know what to do with all that new found power :grin_nod: :grin_nod:

Good deal!  So far too, I love the new sound of that HMF pipe, got kind of a throaty sound at idle.  Not sure yet about at high rpm.

That damn exhaust leak is pissing me off cause i want to test ride it.  Even though the leak is minor I cant stand that it is leaking!

Krandall

yeah, those HMF pipes BARK @ high rpms. I had the HMF full set on my 700. and you could hear me for a solid couple miles down the road. ::) but they sound SO awesome!!! :nana:

Awesome!  I did goose it a couple times and it did get ALOT louder in the garage!  I always did run my stock exhaust with the spark arrestor out which was pretty loud, but this seems a bit louder, but a much sweeter sound.

Krandall

Yeah, that HMF I wish they made duals.. they do for 4x4's but not the rappys :(

deep and throaty.. just the way I like it..

HMF with a quiet core aren't to bad, really takes the bit out when you rev
