im seriously concidering making the trip, and socal is counting on it.  im a little confused, there are vouchers?  and if u dont get one ur sol?  how do you make sure you get a voucher?  Also since its a big trip and money doesnt grow on trees that i can pick on the way, what is tenting like?  are there places to tent?  does anyone live at sl?so many questions

I can't remember the last time I heard vouchers ran out, I didn't have a problem getting in the last time I was there for the July 4th holiday.  They are simple and free, though I admit the premise can be unnerving for first timers.

Tenting is great, there are number of good campgrounds around.  I have always preferred the State Park but there are a lot of others in the area.  Prices are reasonable from 20 bucks or so per night.

There IS some town home type places on the north end I believe that you can rent and you can ride to and from I think.

On the very end of the Beach on the lake. (Michigan not silver)

that's the truth. silver lake dunes are actually about twice the size as the area that you can ride in. damn tree huggers.

i know. and the fact that they make you have sparkys is just dumb as hell too. the only thing that could catch fire out there would be a piece of drift wood, and even if it did catch fire where's it going to burn to?
