Blu-ray capability plus free online game play makes it a no-brainer for me (PS3)

Does blu-ray really have a better picture than a reg. dvd player?
regular DVD is 480i  Blu-ray is HD 1080p  8)

No shit i didn't know that sweet!!  So the x-box is only 480i or 720ip or whatever it is.

And why? I want one, but not sure what one I want to call mine.

How much are you going to actually play?  Are you going to want to play online?  How much are you looking to spend?  I'm an Xbox man myself.  Great selection of games, great all around system. put your pic's on it, upload your own music to listen to while gaming. The cheap arcade system is now $200, I chose to go with the Elite system it has some different internals and comes with a detachable 120gb hard drive and now costs $400.  With the Xbox you have to pay for online gaming but I don't mind the $50 a year because I play it pretty regularly and its worth it to me.  My only experience with the PS3 was for about 30min and no online play so don't know much about it besides it id Blu-ray.  Let me know if I can help further.

Ok so... with the x box you have to pay for online but for the ps3 is free?  Is blu-ray any better?  Damnit i want both!!

Yes this is true for now because I know of rumors that say in the future you will have to pay for online play with the PS3.  But with Xbox Live you can also download movies and what not.  Not sure about PS3.

if you get the 360, be prepared for problems... i am now waiting for my box to come to send it back for the 6th time! its bs... 2 years and its scratched my discs so bad i couldnt play them, twice it had a system failure, and twice its froze every time i turned it on...

when it does work however, its great... listen to music, alot of ppl play xbl if you like that kinda thing. great games, great all around system, untill it breaks... my friends all broke theirs too, but only once and twice...

only AFTER it breaks  :grin_nod: i punch it.... and throw controllers when it freezes, but ill tell you what, you wanna talk about some QUALITY controllers

I have the PS3.  Not a single problem with it and it was one of the first ones off of the production line.

On-line play is good with the PS3.  AND unlike with MS and its Xbox, you don't have to pay for it!

The PS3 is looking better and better.  It has the rumble controller now, and that was my only initial complaint.

I am a little biased, I only buy Sony stuff....  TVs, receivers, speakers, DVD players, computer, laptop, cameras, cell phones (well, I did get an iPhone, but my wife still has her Sony Ericsson), alarm clock, and probably a lot more that is not coming to mind.  Sony builds quality products.  I haven't had a single warranty issue.

if anybody else i knew played ps3 online id be allover it, but it doesnt have halo 2  :(

r1rider98

I've had my 360 for over 2 years and i have not had a problem with it. I do play it a lot and i have a lot of people over to play. Online is awesome. I am thinking about getting a PS3 to try it out. I do like the Sony products. I want to try out the Blu Ray.
