Hiper CF1 front rim install problems - fixed

Bought a set of CF1 Hiper wheels but after mounting them I found they were wobbling.  :'(
After removing them again I found the small locating/centering tabs on the fronts hubs stood up to high and wouldn't allow the rims to sit flat on the hub face. A little work with a grinder and file trimmed them down enough to allow proper fitment. Didn't remove them completely, just enough to fit the rims.
Wheels turn true now. 
Just thought I'd pass the info along.

Wonder what the deal is was those tabs though, they should require modification to fit right.

Yeah no kidding, if I paid that good money for a wheel. It BETTER fit the FIRST time.

I think you mean "they shouldn't require modification to fit right."
The Hipers have a recess machined to allow for them, it just wasn't big enough. I'd rather trim the tabs on the hub than the wheels.
The hubs are cast and it's easy to see how Yam wouldn't worry so much about the variance in hieght of the tabs as their machining up thousands a day. It wouldn't effect the fitment of the aluminum wheels.
As with any performance mod you have to make sure every thing fits and works together as it should.
