Fuel Controllers

A Fuel Controller (FC) should be your first mod of the "Big 3" (FC, Intake, exhaust).  The reason for this is that the Raptor 700 is already fairly lean from the factory, and adding intake or exhaust flow will only make it leaner.  A FC will allow you to adjust the Air/Fuel mixture to compensate.

There are three Basic Fuel Controllers:

Power Commander III (PCIII)

The most adjustable FC on the market, and a must for those who will be doing internal motor mods.  "Maps" are downloaded or shared then input to the PCIII via a USB cable from a computer.

Doebeck style (Many exhaust brands offer this style)

The Doebeck style is a more basic FC, it allows for adjust ments in the low, medium, and high rpm ranges with thumb screws.  Works well for a basic 3 modded raptor, but not reccomended for internal mods.

Dynatek FC

The Dynatek FC is a combination of the adjustabiliy of the PC3 (Although, not nearly as capable), with the simplicity of the Doebeck style.  It has three preset maps within the system, then allows you to adjust from the map you choose by thumb screws like the Doebeck.

This is the newer of the FC styles, and have heard no complaints, nor comments about it's capability to support internal mods.

Hmm, looks very similar to the Doebeck  ???

Gotta strongly disagree so far Aaron.  I have a Dobeck and I assure you there are NO dials at all.  I have 3 buttons.  5 modes of adjustments each containing 9 fields of adjustment within themselves.  I'll put my bike against any PClll tuned 727 out there... so before the Dobeck trashing starts... tire up!!!  LOL  The Dobeck you describe is the Gen2... the one I have is Gen lll.  Genlll's come from exhaust manufactures as per a deal struck with Dobeck.  Dobeck will not (or wouldn't a year ago) sell you a genlll.  So... the genlll will say "HMF" or "Cobra", etc.... mine says LTE.  Just thought I'd share.  :batman:

Not sure on price differences

I'd day get PCIII since everyone runs it and you can get maps for it if you need them.

Power Commander III - $259    Air/Fuel Mapping (no jetting)

DynaTek Programable Ignition - Comes with 4 igniton curves, or you can have a custom ignition curve made & advance the timing even more.  Eliminates the speed sensor in 5th gear.  Has a Launch Feature for drags, good stuff

SandDragon

So what is the o2 sensor doing in here???  A fuel controller is a different bird.  EVLS1 and I both have the LC-1 o2 sensors... they aid in tuning the fuel box... but honestly the readings are erratic.  If I could get a refund... I would spend the $$ on a custom dyno tune and be done.  Also PClll mapsharing only gets you close... if that is what you are after, then your are good to go.  Regardless what TFI you go with, it should have a custom tune to be most effective.  I would also suggest a retune after the addition of a Dynatek.  They can custom tune the Dynatek as well.  Most folks, including myself, use the 2nd curve and it works "geed enough".  ;)

DL700

for the guys who sware there is not a dyno within 300 mi of them there is another way to go......pc3 + Wide BAND Commander + powercommander LCD display.....u can log a/f ratio along with throttle position and rpm....and any other input the pc3 sees when used with the hub .....
