Update on my PC'ed exhaust, the PC can handle the 250+ temp of the can, but the poprivets I used cant... :(  Odd that the CAN gets hotter then most of the exhaust.

Probably due to convection from the can to the rivets. is the can polished AL?

yes
f*ck the system? i didnt even know there was a system!

No its not polished :P its aluminum though and the rivets just have cheap black paint on them.

yes

Rivets are most likely not AL or perhaps a diffrent AL alloy.  Second law of thermodynamics is that heat will transfer from a warmer source to a cooler one.  And if the alloy of the Rivets is not consistant with the can the molecules can rapidly expand due to the introduced heat.

If you feel like giving yourself a headache, you can read about it here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Second_law_of_thermodynamics

probly because its dirty or tarnished. i polished mine after every ride and it was like a mirror. i like the brushed better though, my motoworks you just rinse it and it looks brand new.
