Our great leaders are too chicken to vote on anything that matters before their election.  Way to screw us guys!

Chicken? ???

I'm all for them turning that bill down. Why should tax payers country wide have to pay for the mess of multiple companies mistakes? I'm sure we'll go into a recession now.. that's cool with me. I don't understand why these financial companies don't/couldn't have a cussion for low times.

well I'm going to try and post this as short as I can.  They are chicken to vote for it because if for some reason it goes bad they don't want to be tied to it.  There are over 400 seats up for grabs in the house this november and they don't want to have something like this over them right before an election.  But here is a quick break down of the bill.  In truth the government should get all or more then the 700 billion back.  In a global scheme this should work.  The US will bail out the banks by buying the mortgage backed securities that are plugging their balance sheets and not making them any money right now.   Once they get those of the sheets they can start making loans again, my clients will be able to get loans for their new projects and they can start to hire again and so can we.  New jobs will mean new cars, houses ect., and the people will be able to actually get a loan for that stuff.  This is just an example from my industry.  The problem all goes back to the housing industry and the things can't get moving unless the banks that make the loans can have this stuff off their balance sheets.  As time goes by the large number of the mortgage backed securities will be paid on or become worth more so the US can sell them at a profit to cover the bail out.  By the numbers and financially this should work.  Plus the news will get off its "doomsday is here" crap once we get past november.  So far I'm pretty optimistic that things will start to turn around.  People in my industry really need it, I have 5 friends right now out of work....2 of them have families.
