I am in no way trying to harpoon anyone's idea.
But if you can find a hood for an '06 SE Raptor you'll have both the stock fins and the carbon fiber look. And it holds up to anything regular plastic would.
I wish Yamaha would make all the black plastic out of the same stuff. After 2 years and hundreds of miles in just about every type of weather it still looks new.

Two '06 700R SEs

Both with:                                          One also with:
GYT-R Sport front grab bar                   GYT-R Swingarm guard
GYT-R Engine/frame skid plate             GYT-R Nerf bars
GYT-R A-arm guards                           OMI Steering stem mount
GYT-R Aluminum radiator guard            ODI Lock-on grips

Thats what I was thinking headrope. All that is is a stock 06 Se hood with a grill insert.

I would much rather see an open hood!!
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

Bert

Preddy - what do you mean? Open like a stock hood...

Ah. Got it.

... and sorry those redneck "researchers" got everyone all excited . I'm sure you get enough attention riding quads without all the Bigfoot hunters trying to catch you.

I realize there are only so many options but have they all been explored?

I think more brainstorming is needed, quit holding out & post up

Krandall

I have a few other ideas. I'll do a little draw up tonight when I get home. :)

Is the 660 hood the same as the 700?  I've got a first version that should be done in a couple weeks.

Thanks, Jay

No, the 660 and 700 are different.  And the 700 is different for 09.

Damn that sucks.  So what would we a popular one to make?  I do not want to invest too much of my time into something that will not be wanted.

Thanks, jay

I think your best bet would be to stick with the 06-08 700.  This is by far the most common right now.

I would love a carbon fiber hood but...I will probably go ahead and upgrade to the 700 before that! :grin_nod:

FourWerx

Well I'll have a Carbon fiber 660 raptor hood done in a few days.  It will be available so if anyone wants to claim it let me know.  I'll have pics of it soon.

Jay

i will work on one for the 06-08 style

Jay, do you guys offer that CF 700 hood in any other colors?  I like the CF look, but I think the greyish silver may not match up on my blue raptor with high gloss black accents.
