As of 12 May 2008, the building, which is still under construction, stood at 636 m (2,087 ft). When completed, it is expected to rise over 800 m (2,625 ft).

and 75% of the worlds wasted money. I watched a show where they are building a resort...island and all. By dredging sand. Pretty cool project. But damn guys...enough is enough.   They also have an indoor ski slope. Friggin' nuts. 110 outside, 30 inside. It's like 40 stories tall, 100 yards wide. They say we are wasteful in the US! They make us "infidels" look like Islamic extremists. :grin_nod:

They have to have something when the oil money runs out.....Brilliant in my opinion. Tiger Woods is building a HUGE golf course there now.

I agree, they see the writing on the wall and they know the oil money isn't going to be there much longer.  Plus my company is working on the palm dubai so I don't mind the extra work.

The palm islands are pretty sweet, the one of the world is way sweeter!!!! I've seen pics from the ski-slope inside, such a great idea seeing there's NO snow anywhere over there!!!
