Cool,, Did you get any parts in? Are you going to do the work or are you going to farm it out?

The parts are in, I picked up my valves at KBR today.
I am putting it back together this weekend.
I am a mechanic with 25 years Exp so I usually do not farm a lot out.

I have it almost back together. got it all bolted up and filled the radiator up and tried to start it.   No start.
Cylinder was full of coolant. A little ding from the piston on the head is not allowing it to seal.
How the  did I miss that?????
Tomorrow it goes to get surfaced and hopefully will be running by labor day.  Oh well a bit more compression.

By the way a crank is a lot of work.

I have never had bad luck with them on other builds.
But that sucks.

After going through the damage and the way the piston looks and the condition of the circlips,
I think a circlip broke and is what started the damage.
The wiseco clips were a lot easier to install than the CP. Man those things suck.

I have never had problems before either. But this is 1 of 7 that I know of in the last few months. I know when it goes back together it will not have KW in it. I havent settled on a valve yet but I will after extensive research. Like I said just some FYI. It will be too late if it breaks. Mine did around 1500 damage to my engine

You ever thought about having some valves made. I had some +2 valves made for a predator for 55 bucks a piece! They look really nice!! They also have titanium springs

I went with Ferrea valves and springs, hopefully they work out well.  I just got my crank bearing and case gaskets in today, will be starting on the crank tomorrow.  It definitely looks like it's going to take awhile.  Sounds like we are all building very similar builds.  I'm hoping Bo gets my cylinder done and to me by Thursday, just might be able to get it together and do some racing this weekend.  And that is a +5 buddy, some of us need every millimeter we can get

I am giving serious consideration to having some Ferrea valves made in the "super alloy" in hollow stem. I just need to get the time during the day to call them and ask them some questions about reliability and service interval. I ont mind tearing it down a few times a season, but to break a valve after 6 race passes is pure bullshit. I also dont want to have to replace a set of valves after every race either.
