I sent an email Monday to Steve Nace Racing Promotions asking them if the races Friday and Saturday were points related races.
Got an email back saying that they weren't, which was cool.
In the same Email that I sent I told them that I would be leaving Tuscaloosa, Alabama at 3:00 after work and coming to race Friday night in the open class and 4 stroke class.
Got an email back saying to come on, hope to see you there,
steve
I drove over 3 hours from Tuscaloosa to Cookeville, Tennessee to race and got there 10 minutes after one of my heat races and they said that I would not be able to race because I didn't make the heats. They wouldn't even let me start in the back like I was willing to do. And it's not like there was 20 quads out there there was only 4 in each heat and 8 in the features.
This doesn't sound like a top knotch racing promotion that I read about all the time. Cell phone is always turned off and mailbox is always full. This could have saved me a lot of gas money if the cell was on. I realize he probably gets a ton of phone calls but when you promote races that comes with the job.
If you're running a race program don't turn anybody away if they want to give you there hard earned money just to have a little fun, especially if they're willing to start in the back.
What a crock of shit!
