I was 9 in 84 and it freaked me out! Still don't like dark basements. I work with a guy who lives in an old school, complete with boiler room. They have outlawed that movie at their house.

hahahaha! I'll do it in the winter, they'll be too afraid to go in keep it going, thy'll freeze. Seriously, I went in there.....giot the chills just walking in. Brick room with one hanging light bulb a big iron boiler in the middle. That movie is still in my psyche today.

The Movie the "Shining" was filmed in a hotel around Estes Park Colorado.  Not the scariest movie, but those carpeted hallways make you look aroung the corner for the "twins"
