This whole stimulus thing was a bandaid.... It's not going to fix anything.. Sure. lets just add to an even bigger deficit.

Not true.  If that money (100 billion) was put into the economy it would spur the economy enough to make that up in tax revenue.  But so far the majority of people are trying to save it.  Not that I can say anything, I put it right into my Fidelity account.

I just cant believe that the govt did'nt see it coming. In an economy this bad why would we just blow money, instead of saving it for an even rainier day?

The people in the US are not known for saving.  They shocked everyone on this one.

I didn't save mine. Mine went out for the wedding.

I'm sure lots of people saved. But I think even more spent it on necessities vs. wants.

High gas prices, food @ the store is higher as well.

Maybe they should give the next one to the people who they screwed over on the first "Economic Stimulus" program, instead of just a certain income range.  Shouldn't the money go back to everybody if this whole deal was just supposed to "stimulate the economy"?

What was the income cutoff for the check? I don't remember.

"For a single individual, the income cutoff level is $75,000.
For a married couple filing jointly, the cutoff is double that: $150,000.

People who earn in excess of those amounts may receive reduced stimulus rebates according to a sliding scale which cuts the rebate $50 for every $1000 they receive in income over the established top income limits.

I am by no means rich, but I do spend more than my fair share....and pay more than my fair share in taxes (income, sales, and capitol gains).  It would be nice to get a little back too
