I have a 2000 honda civic. I think i am getting around 28mpg. I love this car. I have had it 4 years and i have only had to do maint. Oil changes brakes and i just had to have the timing belt replaced. i now have 121,000 on it. I bought it with 46,000 on it. This is by far the best car i have had!

dang. That's some mileage you've put on..

My Fiance's sister had a 93 honda civic, the thing died at 279,000. It was a five speed. they replaced the original clutch at 180,000  ::)

I know for quite a few Toyota's they are geared so that the 5spd vs. the Automatic is set up for better acceleration by changing the gear ratio's to be set more for torque vs' economy.
