Tuesday night, my Soldier son surprised me knocking at the back door coming from Afghanistan. We quickly made plans to take him north to ride the ORV Route trail since the ice on the lakes has not been safe. There was more snow up there than I had anticipated and I should have left my studed tires on. I could have also used the skiis up there too. Oh well. at least we got to take Nick riding. We had a great time riding together again.

The trail we rode is a designated "ORV Route", it is about 18 miles long and has orange ORV triangle signage the entire way.  It is the same trail we rode with Hefe early in December.  It is legal to ride but it is also shared with the snowmobilers as trail #6.  The snowmobilers have hundreds of miles of groomed trails in this state.  We have 15.  Nevertheless, I wouldn't recommend anybody riding an ATV on a sled trail.  You can however, watch the video again if you ever wondered what it would look like if you did.   :)

what a cool surprise!!!!

...yeah I was told by a fellow from Michigan that I was making friendly conversation about offroading with, that I would be shot if I ventured onto a sled trail
