Hey everybody sorry I dont post much. My motor which was a 778 build hot rod +5 stroker and 734 big bore kit just died. I have been running this setup for about 2 years. Not to sure why this happened but the front balance shaft came out of the motor bent, I would guess the crank hit it. I am building a new motor now witch will be a 770 big bore kit with a new +5 crank. My question is has any body not installed the balance shafts and ran it that way. I know in Talons that I race we get rid of the balance shafts with a little mod. Pics will come soon. I really would love to hear any info and opinions on doing this. If it helps I have a pc3, dyna tech ign., cnc ported head, +2 intake and exhaust valves, web 4 cam, +3 throttle body, and dasa exhaust.
Thank you raptor peeps

Guess nobody is going to chime in? :(

I haven't been that far in to know. Preddy, Alkire, Gunz, or Troy would be some good people to check with.

Where is the shrug button on here...

The thing is, I would think you would need the balancers to counteract the weight of the crank and reduce vibration. It keeps everything.....well....balanced through each rotation. I've never heard of a mod to fix that. You could speak with the guys at High Desert Dyno about that. Seems more like something a drag motor would have equipped to reduce weight. Also contacting Falicon Cranks and asking about it may yield some results. I'd be interested to hear what they had to say.

Sorry I can't be much help, but 770 is gonna be a blast even with balancers. Im sure the crank or balancer bearing wore out and caused play which caused them to smack into each other.

After talking to Racers Edge (great people there) I will be keeping my balance shafts. I am going to send them my old stock crank to be rebuilt and stroked. They are great people to work with and recomend them to anybody.  Cant wait to get this pile back on the trails and dragstrip. :moped: I will post pics when I get my parts.
