My official report!

It was warm out saturday. We left home about 10:15am and got there about 10:45. It was rumored that there'd be 35,000 people there. Got word at the end that 65,000 showed up!

We walked in and there were red bull girls every where handing out free cans of redbull and little energy shot things as well. Scooped up a few of those. We went and fought the crowds and looked for a place to throw our lawn chairs. We got a decent spot. we were maybe 50 yards away from the ramp. But couldn't see the water luckily they had HUGE screens everywhere to be able to see.

The previous Flugtag flight record distance was 195'. They had buoys out there to 100' every 10 feet. and then way out @ 195 they had a big marker showing the current world record. I believe it was the 4th or 5th group in. They had a "semi replica" of an old war plane. their group name was the "Dirty Dixies" the plane was the tallest there sat on a huge pedestal about an extra 15' in the air. they pushed it off and it looked like it was going to dive bomb into the river. And they hit a huge head wind. plane bucked up and they sailed past the old record to smash it w/ an amazing 207' !!!!!!!

It was way sweet to see it in person! I would totally go back to watch again. was a lot of fun and it was free to watch. so cheap entertainment for the family! :)

here's a vid of the record. I'll get more pics of the other planes soon.
