Exhaust wrap question...

Has anyone here installed header exhaust thermal wraps on their pipes? I was wondering how many layers of wrap are needed to do the job right. Im not sure if excess wrap will harm the pipes or hinder performance in any way. Any suggestions or advice?

I've only experienced it once a long time ago. when I bought my HMF pipe. It came with header wrap. It was nice, since there was no heat shield but after a while riding with it through water/mud it got to looking really gross. Worked well though.

my cousins have been running it on their bikes for a couple of years ( only get about 1 season out of it here in michigan) and they love it. summit racing has pretty good prices, natural, or black with clamps in 1" or 2" wide. hope it helps.
