Last week I rode the raptor for the 1st time in about a month. It ran and started fine all day long but was a pain to start at 1st. Took me about 20 mins!! It just kept cranking but wouldn't fire. It tried a few times but would just shut right off. So then I would pull the plug, crank it over to blow out the extra fuel, and then put a new plug in and try again. The plugs were soaked every time I pulled them out. After about 6 plug changes it finally fired up. My idle might be a little on the low side. Think that could be the problem?? Is there something else I should try adjusting?? Air filter is clean, just had new rings put in about 8 months ago when it was apart to rebuild the trans, and Im pretty sure I have the A/F ratio at about the best its gonna get with the HMF controller. Also, I always have it hooked to a battery tender too. Sometimes it starts a little hard but this time was the worse. What do you guys think??

Did you give it gas when it was cranking? (Do not Give it gas when it's cold)

hrm...

I would try adjusting the TPs, it could possibly be out of whack. there's a thread on here how to do it. I'll see if I can dig it up.

how cold out was it? If it is super cold and the idle mixture is waaay rich, plugs will foul fast.

I did for a second when I put the dobeck on. had it too high. the plug was black. took an extra turn or two to fire. Took the plug off and cleaned it, lowered idle setting. No probs now.

Thats what I'm thinking too. My TB is at TQS right now so I can't mess with it till I get it back. But I'll definitely give that a shot. I broke the DVD manual so I gotta look for that thread.

It also does it once its warmed up. Like if I stall it out it takes a little longer then it should to fire back up.
