have a 2005 660 and i have to constantly check that the sparg plug cap is staying in contact with the plug... the rubber piece that molds into the top of the engine does not seem to say put..  checked everything out and all seems ok... rubber not worn or anything... anyone else having this issue??  plz help...thanks

Peelz

never had that issue.
SHould be easily replaced. the clip inside must be worn out would be my guess.
Krandall: "peelz. I'll be real with you. As much as I hate on you for soccer, I really don't mind it"

Krandall

yeah, I'd bet the clip on the inside isn't seating onto the spark plug.

Improper fitment of the rubber boot will do it everytime, but a good test is to take a spare plug and try putting it in the cap, then pulling it out.  If it holds then you're not seating it well enough, if it doesn't hold then you need to resolve it.  Two options; either take the cap apart (just screws out) and rebend the little clips OR replace it.  You can replace with OEM or aftermarket, I currently use an NGK cap and it does accept the rubber boot.  If you do replace it remember to get the proper resistance, can't recall exactly what it is off the top of my head (5k maybe?) but most places only sell 2 kinds, resistor type and non resistor type.

do u by chance have the NGK part number... i believe it is a YD05F but just wanted to make sure before i order... let me know..thank kyou

You're catching me just a couple days late, I won't be back around my quad for another week and a half so unfortunately I can't get a part no. for you.

The manual states:

Spark plug cap resistance:
10 kΩ at 20 °C (68 °F)

I picked up a straight cap, though one with a 135 degree bend in it will work too if I remember right.
