Help with sound

So my laptop has no sound. It happened yesterday and I never did anything to make it stop working. Didn't turn it off, update, etc. Just came in to play some music this morning and nothin. I can hook up headphones or computer speakers and it still works, just no sound from the main speakers. I still get the beep from them when tryin to turn up or down the vol. just no sound from itunes, youtube, or anything else that requires sound. Anybody have this happen to them or know how to fix it?
