Stock is Cr 8E, the 9 has better heat charcteristics

Livingmylife93

I always end up running CR9E because thats all autozone normally has...

Kenny

CR9E is fine..... it is a colder heat range than the 8. As long as you don't foul plugs, it will work fine 8)

I have a 9 raptor plug in my lawnmower now. Runs great. It shot the stocker out of it the other day. Must have came loose, the threads were sheared off.

Its always safer to run a colder plug than a hotter one, unless your having a problem with fouling. Just like its always safer to be a tad rich than a tad lean. Its all about keepin the motor cool.

Good to know. I never had a clue you could run a different size plug.

It's not a different size, it's a different (colder) heat range.
