I think I'll do the split pack for $25.  That battery on top is killing me.  It's heavy to begin with and mounted that high up is no bueno.

Before you mentioned the stick-on weights, I'd thought of making a plaster mold of the inside of the wheel (inboard and outboard), then making a sand mold from the plaster, then pouring lead into the sand mold.  But, stick-on weights sound a whole lot easier. 

I learned to solder with this truck.  Boy I made I mess.
