So the HP laptop I ordered from Krandall's Deal O' the Day (Woot that is) showed up yesterday and I decided instead of dragging CAT 5 all over the place, I'd join the 21st century and go wireless.  So I'm looking for advice on routers and setup specifics.  I want a router that does both wireless and wired, or if there is a wireless add-on that I can use with my current router/switch, that would be cool too.

How far are going to be from your modem? I just upgraded today to a Lynksys N network dual N band router. I've got my hard wired desktop, 3laptops, wireless desktop, and wireless printer on it. Seems to be holding up alright. I'm about 120 feet from it right now and it's rock'n purdy good.

I am using a Linksys for the desktop and the laptop. It is a great addition to my house. The laptop wireless is N but the wireless router is G but it is still very fast. I use the desktop as my domain for the printers and print wirelessly which is a big plus.
It takes 43 muscle's to frown and 17 to smile, but only 3 for proper trigger pull.

Pretty much any wireless router you get will have 4 ports on the back for wired devices. (some have more) If the new laptop has wireless N integrated. I would suggest getting an N wireless router although a Wireless G will work for ya.
