I bought this game for the PS3 the other day
I like a good racing game on the Console, but shooters go on the PC

A GOOD racing game... this is NOT!

EA hit the nail on the head with the "Tech" issues, improved graphics, and general game play
mad props for that

the first thing that pissed me off is not being able to change the controls that I like
(I like X to be the gas, and O to be the brake)
and there is no way to change it to that
they have 4 "pre-made" controller configs, and none are the "Old school" style

so I decide to learn to drive using my right index finger on the r2 button for the gas
and it works... but sux

so then....
I was bored stiff in the first 10 minutes!

Shift has "shifted" toward Track racing
so, that is it, you just race one track, then another...
no story, no goal (except win the races, then the big one)
no more outrunning the cops, pissing off bad guys, you can't even change the outcome of the game
it is painfully boring!

If you like track racing (Road course) then maybe you will be entertained, but I am not pleased at all
there are plenty of games out there that JUST race on tracks, like Nascar 09, or whatever
if I wanted that, then I would buy that
"Need for speed" is supposed to be for the "Kid" in us
not for the responsible adult.

This game will hit the budget racks soon enough
so till then, don't waste your money

Krandall

Nice review, I am currently thinking of a PS3 purchase but got Mario Kart Wii for my b-day this weekend so this will help me delay that big purchase.  Also, Mario Kart rocks!

im gonna go old school and say that NFS Porsche Unleashed was my favorite, with Hot pursuit being a close second... this new generation of NFS titles has led me to not buying a single one of them

agreed. played it the other day, sucks cock, so i guess some of you guys may like it

just bad overall. steering and braking sucked majorly, and the noises ERMAHGERD horrible.

Hefe

See, Kyle..
I thought the tech aspects of it were fair, the starter cars suck, but the better cars handle better.. etc

I was just bored to death!
