  Same here, as a FAC my right ear was always to the radio handset.  the left was always facing the boom

When I was tear-assing through Iraq I had to have my CVC volume maxxed to hear over my 113's engine and someone would break squelch and deafen me.  My TC ended up just giving me directions by hitting me in the head with the ax handle.  Left side of the head for left, right side for right, top of the head for stop, and back of the head for GO MOTHERFUCKER!!!!!!!    Your comments are unwelcome so FERK off.
