'05 Raptor 350 jetting

I have relocated from LV, NV to Colorado Springs, Co.
approx 2000 ft to 7000 ft.
I need to rejet all our machines, but the wife is first.
I took her 350 carb apart to clean and verify existing jetting.
I used the Yamaha online parts catalog as a guide.
What I found is "according to there listing" there two jets labeled, Main Jet.
one in the bowl and one up by the diaphragm.
Do I need to change both or just the one in the bowl?

You'll need to change the main jet only.

What is the current main jet setting in the carb now?

The Main Jet in the bowl is 142.5 if memory serves, I wrote it down at home.
It matches what Yamaha indicates "stock"
So,,,,
The "Main jet" in the top of the carb is good as is?

We are already here, livin out by Calhan.
Still have a ways to go before I get all the machines jetted.
Trying to get my parts list together and go to the store 1 time for 6 machines.
The family and I are used to the desert, (no trees) so it may take some getting used to riding in the mountains.
I have heard Pueblo Motorsports is closed/open, not really sure.
Do you know of a good trail system around the area?
I was sad to see the deal with Aztecs' neighbors voted down, that's only minutes from the house.

only thing you have to worry about is the jet in the bowl.
f*ck the system? i didnt even know there was a system!

142.50 is the factory jet if memory serves me.

If you run with the lid on, a 150 jet should work well at that altitude. Lid off, 155 main jet. If you have an exhaust system, a 160 main would be ideal. Lid off, 165 main jet. I would say 2 to 2.5 turns from fully seated.

Cool  :thumbs:  I'm right bt woodman and powers in CS.  I drive through falcon everyday to get to work (Schriever AFB).

PMI is open to ride, I was there two weeks ago, just some areas marked and closed.  Lots of areas up by Woodland park off Hwy 24.  Also you got an MX track right near Aztecs called Dragonmans.  I think he just redid it  ???

Hey Flynbyu,

Sorry to be a pain, but if I increase jet size for the higher altitide, won't I cause it to be even more rich?
I have been reading on the net that I should multiply existing jet size by .94 due to increase in altitude to restrict fuel flow.
Not trying to be a pain, just don't wanna buy the wrong parts.  My math gives me 133.9 (134).
Am I way off base here?

700r, I drive through Falcon around 5:30 every am.
I've heard of Dragon mans. My 16 year old wants to ride a track, so as soon as I get the KLX 125 rejetted, I'll be taking her down.
Me, I love trail. Plus, too old to try to pretend I'm young. I figured out a couple of years ago the ground is harder than I am.

Good, I was getting a little corn fused.
As for mods, not so far.
Completely stock.

I hadn't thought about removing the Air Box lid.
Would that improve performance without changing the exhaust as well?
I know my KLX had the stock "butt plug" that restricted flow, I piped and jetted it and really woke it up.
Haven't thought about that much with the Raptor as it is "momma's" and she is pretty happy with it.
If I can improve performance while rejetting though, why not.

It won't unless you pull the baffle on the stock exhaust, but not enough to truly notice. When you do a slip on exhaust, etc., you'll notice a big difference.

FYI Dragon mans is roughly on the corner of Curtis road and Hwy 94.  It's open Tues-Sunday 930-6pm.  Make sure you read the signs on the way in  :rofl:
