hi everyone i am new here, i just got my 1rst 700 raptor today, i had an 01 660 that i sold when i bought my house and now i got a really good deal on this 700, i got it cheap bc it wont shift into gear, it will click in gear with engine off but well not when running, i here no funny noise or anything, if its in gear and then i start it, it still acts like its in neutral ones it starts, i pulled clutch cover, clutch basket,  i dont see any visaul problems, does anyone have any pointers, am i lookin at a total tare down??

No real way to diag it. Maybe change the oil and look for metal chunks.

Either a bent shift for or broken shift dogs.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

ok im goin to pull engine off, is thr anyway the reverse could be parcially engaged causing it to no shift? i had a 350 warrior that would sometimes not shift bc the reverse lever ??? thr was no metal shaving in oil or in oil filter, shift shaft and inturnals are all ok up to the shift drum

Onlything I can say about the reverse, is try taking the cable off and wiggling the lever around. See if that helps.

I personally have never herd of that happening on the 700's.

What happens when you run it through up to 3rd or 4th then start the bike?

I'm thinking that the shift fork is bent. Since you said you drained the oil and there's no metal chunks.

Yea it takes trail riding to another level

Keep us updated. If you do have to split the cases I'd FOR SURE drop in a Hot Rod +5mm crank!
