Have a 2003 660 raptor.  Called around to most of the raptor guru's and have not been helped at ALL!!
Went riding in the dunes for about 4 solid days, came home and parked my quad.  Had to work for 2 straight weeks, on my day off i was ready to ride my quad. Except my quad would not start.  After further investigation i found out it was not firing.  I traced wires, replaced CDI box and rectifire box, still no fix.  It will run like brand new when i unplug the rectifire box but as soon as it is plugged back in it kills the motor.  Even with the new parts it still not runnin.  Inspected all safty switches and checked all wires, as far as I can tell all is good.

Any answers from anyone would be greatly appericiated.

Thanks

MD needs to chime in.. but my money is on the stator

You've already done the troubleshooting you just need to know what it means.  If you disconnect the rectifier and all is well then the stator itself is the issue.  First try cutting the red wire coming from the stator, here's a video:

If that doesn't work then try cutting the white wire w/ blue stripe coming from the stator.  If you still don't get spark with the rectifier unplugged it's time to replace the stator.

I have spark when the rectifire is unplugged. but when plugged back in it is killed.  You think the Stator is bad?

Correct, unplugging the rectifier is the test for the stator.  Try cutting the red wire in the video first before replacing the whole stator.

already answered....  good luck.

i remember doing all these steps when I thought it was the stator once.
