Video editing software

So has anyone messed with video editing (on a PC)?  Now that I have the contour gps I want to pick up some editing software to make a few vids.  Fill this newbie in.

i ended up using pinacle studio, spent an entire day making a video and still wasnt terribly good at it, but the video was decent and i am proud of it.  Hit up spartan727, he helped me out when i was doing it.  Ive recently switched to adobe's new on cuz it utilizes dual core
