Head gasket

So a few months ago turned my baby into a 105mm raptor. But i did something wrong because my coolent comes out the overflow. my thought is a blown headgasket. My question is can i used a stock bore head gasket on the 105mm? if not will a 105.5 work? I plan on ordering head studs too. what studs do you recomend?

Well, I can answer a couple of your questions...

No, you cannot use a stock bore 102mm head gasket. Yes, you can use a 105.5mm head gasket. That is what cometic gaskets always sends me
for my 105mm builds. I run studs on my 108mm build, but can't remember who I got them through, sorry.

One other thing you might consider doing is o-ringing the cylinder. I'm sure many shops do it, but I've always had great luck with Sredrum's Race Carbs in
Ohio doing mine. Runs ya about $80 shipped if I remember correctly. He is a sponsor on yfztech if you were interested in contacting him.

I've always had this issue with a big bore kit. Coolant always got pushed out the overflow tank, but only when I was really really beating on it. My cylinder surface prep is second to none, its oringed, and studed. I've just came to the conclusion that its just going to happen no matter what I do. I dont even bother keeping the over flow toped off anymore. Just run it dry. After a long days riding, I'll let the bike sit and I'll check the coolant level at the radiator and its always at the very top.

I know TRF does a stud kit. That might be worth looking in to.

NHRA is dead on, 105.5, not 102. If you use 102 you will eat the gasket with your piston. anyone tried a DL700 copper gasket?

The only down side I heard was when cold they have a tendancy to weep a little coolant until the operating temp gets up.

Thanks guys. I'm prob going to get some studs and a new gasket. I guess if that doesn't work i will have to do the o-ring

SCE TITAN gaskets  work great a little spendy but well wort it....

a lot of issues are from the radiator not being big enough to handle the added heat from the additional hp, ... id like to explain it all but dont feel like it right now
