How to reset the check engine light

I had a blown fuse and my check engine light came on. I replaced the fuse and i didnt know if you have to have the yamaha diagnostic tool to clear the code and turn the light off or if there is another way.

total guess...but try disconnecting the battery for awhile. 10 minutes or so. Old trick.

I dissconnected it for a while yesterday but maybe i didnt leave it off long enough. Im gonna try that again when i get home.

Is it flashing the same code from when the fuse blew?

Or is it possible it's a different code?

Its the same one i think. It only flashes when the engine is off and stays on solid when it is running. I looked in the service manuel and it said you have to clear the code with the yamaha diagnostic tool and i dont have one. I had a wire break off my fan relay while ridding and it touched another wire that blew the fuse and it hasnt come on before that so i think it is still the same code.

gotcha, yea, just let the battery sit unhooked for 10 mins and it should be good to go.
