ok so i got my headcover back the hole in it has been welded up but now i need to put some paint on it what is a really good kind of high temp paint to paint the head cover with?

need a color that will go with the blue white plastics, the dark gray of the motor and silver of the frame

Trick is to get something that is heat dissipating not heat retaining!

i just want somethign thats gonna protect the the alu. weld and that the heat wont bother

Look for caliper paint or anything that's rated for 500+ degrees

How bout Dupli-Color engine enamel?

That's what I'd also suggest. just get some paint for an engine block.

Thanks for the replys guys. I think I'm gonna try the Dupli-Color engine enamel since it's not gonna cost to much, and well I'm painting the head I'm gonna do the stock pipe too since it has a nice coat of rust that I just cleaned off it. lol I'm thinking about going with the ford darkblue on the head cover and the pipe now.

Shouldn't get hot enough to need any really high temp stuff on the head cover, but the exhaust you'll want it.

yeah man you do i just got my head all fixed up and cleaneds and glassbeaded and its just got the last coat of paint on it tonight it looks SOOO much better then it did before i even found a paint that dam near mated the stock motor paint ill get some new pics up in my rebuild topic soon

yeah it has been way to long since this quad broke im some glad the head cover only cost me $20 to have welded up and $20 in paint i dont think i could have beat that price and now i cant wait for my cuz. to move to the valley here with his 400 ex to take him out riding and show him the trails hes 17 and the last time i had him on a quad was when i used to babysit him and i took him around the yeard on my old 250 timberwolf but we have never got out riding before with our own quads so it will be alot of fun to get some family out on the trails again.
