hooked battery backwords now wont start

  i had to go buy a new battery because the original was dead and would not take a charge but when i hooked the new one i was a dumby and hooked it up backwards now the 01 raptor will not start can someone help me im new to this and dont know where to start

A couple Q's: is the battery alive at all, or fried?  DOes it make any noise at all?

^^^^no noise and battery still has good power is probably that^^^
