This is were I suggest putting the O2 sensor. There is a cast in boss that Ive talked about before that Ive always felt is for this. I took a file and cleaned up the top of the boss and to flatten it a little and centered up on it and drilled a pilot hole to break through into the crossover in the ports. I will drill and tap to size and spot face the top for the washer on the O2 sensor to seal off. I will post more pix when Im done:

Its drilled to the size it needs to be tapped to 14 x 1.5(which is 1/2"). Centered up on the crossover pretty good if I say so myself(since it was freehand lol):

Its tapped, all thats needed is to be spotfaced (or milled flat):

very cool Bo.  I'll be interested to see how it works

Any benefit to having the O2 Sensor this close?

I thought when I was reading about it, that it needed to be 6-12" away from exhaust port?

Its not in the direct path of the exhaust flow.

This is personal point of view but i doubt you can get the correct reading since the flow will not be the same you get only turbulence in the balance.
Let us know how it works
