Starting to plan out my trips for next year.  Need info on Walden. How early in the year can you ride there?

Not very.  It's about 8500 feet and can be pretty sketchy for weather.

late may maybe? It was snowing when we were there back on the first weekend of October. Figure out when your going and I bet me, Colorado700, lady4fiddi, troywcc, tonto, and a few others can meet you there.

8500' should make for a comfortable summer riding area.  How is June or July?

I was up there in July. Quite comfortable if I do say so myself.
Just a little 81hp trail bike.

2-3rd week of may is do-able, but weather dependant. You can ride comfotably till mid Sept.

Walden is a blast, but is going to have its problems with the new sound restrictions if they acutally enforce them. My banshee was no where near passing last year, so it may be an off weekend place only, when there are no rangers out and about.

Other then the typical Colorado tree hugging bullshit, it is very fun. Lots of hillshoots, pretty quick bikes up there if you are into racing. Earliest I have been there is the 1st of May, and I went for a halloween ride there two years ago and it was still nice. Its one of those places you watch the hell outta the weather for sure.
