When I got pulled over for riding my raptor on a gravel road in BFE Iowa about a month ago (it was the boy's in brown and not a cop), he asked me where i was headed. I told him the area I was suppose to meet some guys and he got all pissed. Turns out it was a state forest (I had no idea, never been there before) and it is "VERY F'IN ILLEGAL" to ride in a state forest in Iowa, so apparently that is out for us.

He says the only place in Iowa to ride legally is on private property and in the designated OHV parks. That is IT. "ANYWHERE ELSE IS ILLEGAL AND I WILL BUST YOUR ASS" (so he didn't really say bust my ass, but I was hoping he would ). He flipped out on me, as I tried to explain I honestly didn't know. Except for riding on the road, been pulled over for that before also.

Where the hell was I going with this?

Like someone before was mentioning mountain bikers and horse riders should have to pay fees also, I agree 110%. Iowa pisses me off with the people who ride their bicycles on the road. You are suppose to share the road with them, but I have paid to drive on that f'in road and to keep them up to par, but they get to do that crap for free. It just really annoys me when i get stuck behind someone on a bicycle and they are right in the middle of the lane. You pull up next to them and ask them to move over so people can get by and they tell you to eat shit, they have a right to be on the road too. I have had this happen to me a few times, and then people wonder why these asses keep getting run over.

So this turned into me ranting about a bunch of crap that was mostly off topic. My bad. It has been a bad day, and I feel much better now

I don't think mountain bikers and hikers, etc. shoul dhave to pay fees. We're all already paying fees in Washington state in the form of various taxes. I just want the existing money to be spent where it is supposed to.

I think if you use an area for whatever purpose it should be free for all, or all pay the same for access and use.

Exactly. That it's 'offroad' money is only a further pain. It's the diversion of funds that pisses me off.
