So i've been curious as to how many of you out there do your own engine work vs paying a machanic.

And for those who pay either a machanic/stealership how much do you pay per hour?

And how many hours do they charge for an average rebuild?

I am not in the position at this moment but am just curious.

I actually sent my entire motor to Bo and he put it together for me I won't lie. I was afraid of going into the motor. Everything else I've done myself. I refuse to bring it to a dealership.

Hey jeff,

I am not really sure on what i want to do yet. I am just seeking as to what most of you do. I wish i could work on my own engine but thats beyond me.

I am like you Danny, that stuff gets over my head. I just get this buddy of mine a case of beer and we go to work. I just do what I can to help and learn

Peelz

I have always done my own, but never anything too crazy. SO...I picked the crackhead option

I do it all by myself, cause i couldnt even afford the gas to bring it to a dealer, let alone the bill.

If i dont know how to do it, i learn as i go.

hefe used to work on his own stuff, till i had to come over and recue him lol now he send it to mr barker.

i on the other hand do all of my own work and work on a lot of others stuff. i just go over to mr barkers for help with stuff that i dont have the equipment to do. there are only two people i would suggest to build an engine. 1 is tim barker of course and the other is bo. they both know their shit really well.
